The delivery of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

Written by Mutlu BİNİCİ

Translated by Emir Esat TEMİZ

God and His angels give blessings to the Prophet. He was not sent except as mercy to mankind. And he is of a great moral character. The Prophet is more caring of the believers than they are of themselves and concerned over your suffering, anxious over you. He has been sent as a witness, and a bearer of good news, and a warner. He is an excellent example in the Messenger of God, and a caller towards God by His leave, and an illuminating beacon.

The Monday

Our beloved Prophet, graced to the earth at midnight Monday close to sunrise. When one of his friends came and asked for the importance of fasting on Monday The Messenger of Allah replied “It is(the day) when I was born and revelation was sent down to me”. By all accounts, Messenger of Allah was born on 12th of night of month Rabi’ al-awwal. Nonetheless, an Eygtian Astronomic Researcher men who was endeavouring to determine the date of the messenger’s birth confirmed it as 20th April 571 with reference to eclipse of the sun when the son of Prophet Muhammad died(Abraham). Muhammad Hamidullah appointed as 17th of June 569 while considering the ‘Nesi’ Calendar which had been applied among Jahiliyya Arabs.

Holy Birth Week

Mother of “Ebi’l-As”(Fatıma Binti Abdullah) and mother of “Abdurrahman b. Avf”(Şifa Hatun) had been with Aminah bint Wahhab while she was giving birth. Therefore, they have the distinct honour of witnessing most appreciated birth on earth ever. It’s known that in the night when Prophet Muhammad came off there had been plenty of extraordinary miracles. Accordingly, The Palace of persion emperor trembled and its 14 columns fell down, the flames of the fire-worshippers went out which had been burning for more than a thousand years, never extinguished, Saveh Lake was desiccated, Semave river was flooded, idols in Kaaba fell down face down and many Christian and Jewish wise man articulated that the star of Prophet has evolved. However, large amount of these hadiths do not appear in prime Siyar and Hadith sources, therefore theoretic approach is foresightfully requested for these rumors.

The Family of Prophet Muhammad

The father of Muhammad(pbuh) named Abdullah b. Abdulmuttalip who was a member of Quraysh tribe got sick while turning back from a commercial travel. Consequently, he died in Madinah when he was 25-year-old without seeing his son even once. Abdullah’s father, Abdulmuttalip b. Haşim was the leader of Mecca and ‘ Fatıma binti Amr’ was his mother. The mother of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) was daugther of Wahb abu Abdumanaf from the clan of Bani Zuhr tribe of Quraysh which is one of the prominent families among Quraysh tribe. The mother of Aminah is “Berre binti Abdülazza” The Messenger of Allah was praised in prayer of his ancestor (Abraham), was the evangel of his brother (Jesus) and  the dream of his mother. Aminah saw a dream while she was pregnant; in her dream as she told: a divine light came off from inside of her so that she could watch the palaces of Damascus and Bozrah with the enlightment of it. Plus, she was told that she is going to have a baby who she must name Muhammad or Ahmad.

At His Grandpa’s Arms futtock

After the prophet was born, his mother Aminah sent a message to the leader of Quraysh tribe Abd al-Muttalib that her son was born. Abd al-Muttalib who was present in Hijr near to Mecca went to see Muhammad(pbuh) with his sons. Then presented his thanks to Allah that He blessed them with the kid of his loved son while holding Muhammad on his arms just front of Kaaba. Aminah told Abd al-Muttalib that she encountered extraordinary situations and that baby’s name must be Muhammad. Uncle of Prophet Muhammad (Abbas ibn Abd-al Muttalib) told this endearing phenomenon after several years in which he mentions that he went to Aminah with his mother and kissed Muhammad. In addition, he said that he hit the Prophet’s heels as he remembers clearly.

The Names of the Prophet(pbuh)

Narrated Jubair bin Mut’im:
Allah’s Messenger said, “I have five names: I am Muhammad and Ahmad; I am Al-Mahi through whom Allah will eliminate infidelity; I am Al-Hashir who will be the first to be resurrected, the people being ressurected there after; and I am also Al-‘Aqib (i.e. There will be no prophet after me).

“I am Muhammad, Ahmad, Muqaffi(the last in succession), Hashir, the prophet of repentance, and the Prophet of Mercy.”

Allah the Almighty adverted the Prophet with Muhammad for 4 times and with Ahmad for once in the Holy Qur’an. Ahmad means the one who praises Allah much and deserves to be ‘praised’. This name has never been put to anyone before the Messenger of Allah himself.
